DISCRETIONARY FUNDING
Black Public Discretionary Fund
The application is an invitation-only funding opportunity. Unlike our other funding initiatives such as the Open Call, BPM provides discretionary money for unique circumstances.
We are eager to support our community of storytellers especially during the most challenging times in the fundraising process -- securing seed and completion funds.
BPM accepts proposals for feature-length documentaries (one-off or series), shorts (non-fiction or scripted) or limited podcast series for public media distribution. There are no limits on the subject area. However, we encourage work that will promote discourse and engage audiences around a critical social issue. In addition, we welcome proposals that target specific viewers such as children and teen audiences.
GRANT AMOUNT
UP TO $50,000
Funding is only for projects at R&D or Completion stage. Applicants must be previous grantees or emerging producers with a public media distribution deal.
